It's probably a good thing that I've been backlogged. I've gained more experience since I've been back on a weekly basis after my initial two visits. I had initially heard about this new French cafe from Midtown Lunch. I went the day his review came out and got the pina colada macaron and a matcha one. I thought both were scrumptious. A macaron's a French pastry that is like a meringue. There aren't that many places in the city that make a good macaron so I was delighted that this cafe's so close to my office.
The Good
- The 2 sandwiches I've tried- a duck liver and an Italian sandwich were both worth the price. ( I think they are $8 and $6 respectively). They're generous with the meat.
- I dare say the sandwiches are comparable to Bouchon Bakery
- The pina colada, matcha and mocha macarons are better than many other versions I've tried in this city.
- The macarons are the size of 2 bites and cost $1.50 each. The price is a bit hefty.
- I tried the litchi rose, pistachio, chocolate macarons a few weeks after the cafe opened and they tasted stale. It was overly refrigerated and did not taste fresh. Maybe I went on an off day.
- The place is too small. There's only 1 small sofa to sit and eat. It's like a coffee-bar, meant for take out orders.

Did you let the macarons sit at room temp for a bit before you ate them. They probably over refrigerate them because of the DOH.
