Sobaya

Every week I treat myself to an expensive lunch. Lately, the lunch involves soba. I used to hate soba. I don't like noodles in general. But after that great experience at Honmura An a year ago, I became interested. Then I found out that it was nutritious, all kinds of disease preventing and only 132 calories per serving. It's like the miracle food. The problem with Honmura An is that they have a $25/pp mininum. I've been going around the city treating myself to a new soba place every week. Most of them sucked so I haven't mentioned them. Today I went to Sobaya. When I first became a foodie at the end of high school, I wanted to try the place because of its decor. The outside looks like an old Japanese building. But I didn't like soba and $15 for lunch was too steep for a girl making $12/hour. Now that I'm older, I think it's great! They have ikura soba for $13.50! That's comparatively cheap. Ikura is salmon roe, one of my favorite foods! Plus they give you the soup afterwards. I think I'm going to go back next week.
